Plight of a Kid – Ms Duha

Ammi! there are strangers here today
“go home kids!” they say
“go home and do not play!”
and at home I shall stay,
or I fear they’ll take me away.
I think they’ve just lost their way,
or have they been lead astray?
Ammi.. Do I help them with means to find their way?
I’m sure they’d cause no harm at the end of the day.
Ammi! why are there strangers in my land?
It’s theirs, they demand! Even if I help them with means to fend,
they say they have no fences to mend,
They march around saying they’re our protectors, protect us from what?
Are we in lurking dangers?
I don’t mind my land to share, but what they do,isn’t fair!
I fear of what may come, Humans, brutal and loathsome Ammi!
could you just hold me tight.
I see a life for me, without light!
